Qrious, the specialist data and analytics business owned by Spark, is delighted to announce the appointment of David Leach as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 16 January 2017.
David will be joining Qrious from Orion Health, where he has held a number of different roles over the past 9 years, most recently Senior Vice President - Enterprise HIS. David has been a member of Orion’s Executive Leadership Team, with global responsibility for a number of Orion’s products.
CEO of Spark Ventures, Ed Hyde, said “David is an exceptional leader with a wealth of experience gained in one of New Zealand’s most successful high tech software companies, Orion Health.
“He has been instrumental in growing Orion’s business globally and has a very strong product focused approach.
“His skills and experience align perfectly with what we were looking for in a CEO at Qrious; someone who can continue to drive its strong growth trajectory and harness the enormous possibilities of big data and analytics to create significant value for customers.”
David Leach said “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead and continue to grow Qrious. Big data and analytics is an exciting and growing market with so much potential and Qrious is in a fantastic position.
“We are only just starting to see the possibilities afforded by big data and data analytics to help business and the world around us”, he said.
“The incredible talent at Qrious, combined with great technology and data, places Qrious in a superb position to innovate with speed and drive positive, data-driven change for its customers.”
Spark has recently reinforced its commitment to Qrious following strong growth. This has already translated into accelerated recruitment to deliver on organic growth, the launch of a Data Powered Marketing practice and a business acquisition to complement Qrious’ Wellington presence.
“I am looking forward to building on this positive momentum, including preparing for potential international expansion,” Mr Leach said.
David, originally a qualified engineer and software developer, moved into professional consulting and sales, and eventually found his passion in technology innovation and product leadership. He is married with three young children.
